The text on the stele reads:
In the 3rd year of Zhengshi (242) the Goguryeo [?invaded]... 正始三年高句驪[?寇] ...commanded the seven legions, and attacked the Goguryeo. In the 5th [?year] (244)... 督七牙門討句驪五[?年] ...again the remaining enemies. In the 6th year, the 5th month (~June 245), he led back [?his army]... 復遣寇六年五月旋[?師] General Who Exterminates Invaders, Wuwan Chanyu of Wei... 討寇將軍魏烏丸單于 General Who Intimidates Invaders, Chief Village Marquis... 威寇將軍都亭侯 Expeditionary Major-General possessing... 行裨將軍領 ...Major-General... 裨將軍
On the lower left corner is the annotation by a local prefect at the time of rediscovery:
Repaired in the 31st year of the reign of Guangxu (1905) 光緒三十一年六月承修 Received from excavation on the hills of the Banshi Ridge, Ji'an county 輯安縣板石嶺於嶺上破土得之 Annotated by Prefect of Andong County, Wu Guangguo 安東縣知縣吳光國注
